Filmy Flavours- An Improvisation on Bollywood Theme
A series of reasons go to make Futomic Design Services a stand alone name in theme restaurants in India and offshore. Of all, the first is its selection of an unanticipated theme and the very second is its capacity to cater to even the minute requirements with intricate detailing. As the Indian Cinema completed its grand century a couple of years back, the FDS team decided to extend the centenary milestone in its own way. And what came up is a Bollywood theme restaurant that gives an interesting crux of the entire era of the fraternity. Now, this is what is called a true improvisation!
Located in NCR’s most happening hub, Noida, Sector –63, Filmy Flavours has been designed as a fun restaurant for people from all walks of life, be it college goers, corporate executives or family folks. What welcomes the guests in the restaurant is the large iconic three-dimensional sculpture of Krrish body where guests place their heads to click their pics. The bright red, blue and yellowcoloured ambiance has been divided into different zones as a medley of diverse eras of Hindi Cinemas.
The very first wall that portrays the 1970s era showcases some of the classic hits of the time such as Pakeezah and KabhiKabhi.While the 1980s section exhibits blockbusters like Mr. India, the 1990s zone stands for Dil to PagalHai and Jo JeetaWohiSikandar. The 2005 circle brings forward movies like Veer-Zaara, KabhiAlvida Na Kehna, Mohabbatein, 3 Idiots and the more recent ones like Burfi belong to the 2010 period. Coming to the present era, movies like PK are highlighted in the 2015 timeline.
The idea was to provide a light and bubbly ambiance to the guests to enjoy gossips and have light-hearted discussions. And to implement the same, the team created various props from different movies, designed backlit customized frames giving real effect of movie reels and crafted iconic collages along with trivia about the movie; for instance comic posters and dialogues and so on! LCDs have been stationed at every section to enable the guests to remain tuned to their favourite shows.
The U-Shaped buffet area has been adroitly covered with the giant DilwaleDulhania Le Jayenge poster posing the super hit SRK – Kajoljodi and the panoramic view of the verdant Indian farms shown in the movie. The interesting thing to note are the partitions niftily made in the form of actor cut-outs along with their popular dialogues. The popular ones include that of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Katrina Kaif and Sri Devi.
The seating arrangement again comes with a twist. While the nicely tufted velvet sofas have been given bright hues of red and blue, the table-tops have been enveloped with comic graphic prints, jokes and cartoons of heroes and heroines.
What catches the maximum attention is the shaded glass wall printed with shadows of dancing actors and actresses. Filmy Flavours also highlights different facts of Bollywood encompassing Filmfare Awards, comic creative, original star choices in movies and so on. The ceiling is decked up with lighted stars, suspended movie reels, heart shapes, LPs, CDs and cassettes. And the picturesque Hema and Dharmendrajodi adds spice to the entire filmy ambiance. Filmy Flavours is indeed a charming restaurant cum set designed by FDS exhibiting a complete glimpse of the 50-60 years of the Bollywood fraternity!
